County Ride is the public transit system for Queen Anne’s County and is operated under the Department of Aging. Their staff is committed to providing quality transit service for the general public and specialized services for seniors and persons with disabilities who are unable to use a fixed-route public system. The Queen Anne’s County Community Partnerships for Children and Families (Local Management Board) has a Transportation Voucher Program. You qualify for this program if you are a resident of Queen Anne’s County and: 1. You are between the ages of 16-24 neither working nor enrolled in school, or 2. Your family has children affected by a family member’s past, current or possible incarceration, or 3. Your family has youth under the age of 18 who are at-risk of not transitioning well into adulthood.

The Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) provides assistance with home heating bills. Payments are made to your utility company on your behalf. Under this program, there is limited assistance available to replace broken or inefficient refrigerators and furnaces. Applicants must meet income eligibility requirements.

Local Churches have committed financial resources to Haven Ministries through the Church Fund for the purpose of helping pay bills for Queen Anne’s County public. Folks in need of financial assistance meet with a case manager at the Resource Center who thoroughly researches each request.
